Frisco Adventure Park in Frisco, Colorado is the perfect place to do some winter snow tubing with the whole family.

The Frisco Adventure Park provides the tubes as well as a magic carpet to return you to the top of the hill. You must be 36 inches tall to participate. Reservations are required and can be made online. It is not uncommon for the tubing hill to be sold out for winter weekends. 

Frisco Adventure Park is conveniently located between Frisco and Breckenridge on Highway 9. There is a large plowed parking lot, which does fill, but changes over quickly, so arrive early and a parking spot is likely to open. 

Reservations for tubing are made by the hour and, honestly, an hour is typically plenty of time. Each loop takes about 8 min. Arrive early for your reservation as you do have to check in, get your lift ticket, and sit through a short safety video. Then you grab your tube and head to the magic carpet. The seven-year-old and nine-year-old in our group were able to easily manage their tubes, but the five-year-old needed our help to get his tube up the magic carpet. 

At the top, you get magnificent views of the mountains. There are staff members who send you down the tubing hill. You are welcome to go down in groups as large as four. The staff members also are happy to give you a running start or spin you down the hill. (Note: the spinning is quite intense, as reported by my husband, I was not willing to give it a try. The nine-year-old though loved it.) Once at the bottom you collect your tube and drag it back to the magic carpet to repeat the process. 

Net to the tubing hill is a beginning ski slope that utilizes the same magic carpet. We have never used this ski slope, but it comes highly recommended by our friends for kids' ski lessons before you head to one of the larger ski resorts. You can arrange lessons through the webpage. We have it earmarked to try later in the season with our new skiers. 

If you're just looking for a great sledding hill in the area, this is the place to come. Opposite the tubing hill, is a free sledding hill. If you arrived without a sled there is a Walmart in Frisco that always has parents picking up sleds for their visit. (If you have little kids a sled can be a great way to pull them around the snowy towns.) You run up the hill and sled back down.

The Frisco Adventure Center also has groomed nordic trails and you can arrange sled trails, though we have yet to give those a try. This is a great place to enjoy some other winter activities, particularly with kids.
